I bought this retainer out of necessity as a stand-by for job interviews, but it's not suited to me. The acrylic bar is the most flexible I've yet to find and is very comfortable, but the soft rubber O-ring pings off of the bar with the slightest disturbance. You definitely cannot sleep in this bar, and I do not recommend it for places that move a lot, eg. the lip. I have a much more positive experience with push-in retainers. Personally I also think these look less subtle than push-ins.

A good quality acrylic bar with an end that screws nice and securely. This is my first acrylic jewellery so I was unsure of how high quality the threads would be, but I have experienced no issues even if I do have to clench the bar between my teeth to be able to screw the ball on tight enough. I had to stop using mine as my long-term jewellery since the acrylic was being a little hard on my teeth, but if you're a person used to using metal bars with no issues then you're unlikely to have a problem here. As far as acrylic bars go, you probably can't go wrong with this one.

This is my absolute favourite labret stud of all time. Of all time! The end of the bioflex bar that sits inside your mouth is softly rounded and thins out towards the edges of the circle, meaning that once cut to the right length it sits comfortably with minimal disruption to your teeth. I had to swap out my old acrylic stud because it was janking up my teeth and gums, but this bar is so nice I forget that I'm wearing it. I absolutely love that you can cut the bar to the length you want. I positioned the bar in my mouth, pushed it forward with my tongue, and very carefully snipped the excess length off with scissors (be careful not to cut your lip/skin if you do this, and don't cut so close that the jewellery digs into the piercing site). I was concerned about the push-fit at first, fearing the jewellery might come away from the bar easily, but once inserted the jewellery stays firmly in place. Due to the tiny size of the jewellery it CAN be quite fiddly to insert and push into the bar, but once it's in you know it's not going to just ping out. Cut to the right length, the little star sits flush to my skin. It's an adorable piece of jewellery and its tiny size makes it subtle, so it's a perfect choice if you work someplace that allows piercings but requires you keep them subdued in appearance. I really do adore this piece and I think it's going to be my jewellery of choice for a long time before I want to switch to anything new.
